Founding AI Engineer
We're hiring a Founding AI Engineer at Harmonic Intelligence. This role isn't for everyone, so read carefully.
Highlights: We're early stage, you'll own the technical side of the business, and you'll earn a cut of the revenue generated by everything you build. Co-founder potential for the right person.
About Harmonic Intelligence
We launched in January 2026 to help real estate and construction companies adopt AI. We're a small team of experienced operators with real clients and revenue.
The role
This is a founding role where you own everything technical. You'll build the products, agents, and systems our clients need to get more out of AI, and you'll choose your tools, the architecture, and stack for each build.
Recent projects include:
- Research agent for a real estate lender
- Invoice processing for a real estate developer
- Bidding and RFQ workflow for a general contractor
- Digital company HQ that brings all of a client team's tools into one UI
Your work may include:
- Client work: custom software, agents, data architecture, and local model setups
- Products: scalable products that solve needs we hear across multiple clients, plus internal tools that enhance our delivery
- Embedded builder: you may work inside a client's org for a few weeks or months at a time as their in-house AI builder
Compensation
This role is pure revenue-share to start. You earn a cut of the revenue on everything you build, so the more value your work creates for clients, the more you take home. As our contracts grow and your work compounds, that number climbs.
We understand this is a risk. It's the same risk the rest of the team is taking as we bootstrap and earn as we grow. The right person should be excited by this. We're looking for someone who would rather bet on the upside than collect a steady paycheck.
Co-founder potential
You'd join as Harmonic's Founding AI Engineer. For the right person, there's a path to co-founder, with equity and title on the table. First, we need to see how we work together and the level you operate at.
About you
We see two kinds of people fitting this role.
The first is an experienced operator who's built from the ground-up a few times and still loves rolling up their sleeves every day. This is close to a Head of Engineering or CTO level, but to be clear: you're the builder and you won't have a team to start.
The second is an early-career builder whose friends think they're crazy for how obsessed they are with AI. You spend most of your day in Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, build agents and software for yourself and others, and you're using new tools months before most people have heard of them. If that's you, we care more about your attitude, ambition, and what you've built lately, not your years of experience.
Either way, we're looking for someone who is:
- Obsessed with AI and always tinkering with the latest tools
- Able to own technical decisions and ship without a Head of Engineering or CTO above you
- Driven by a "figure it out at all costs" attitude, which matters more than your resume
- Ideally experienced in client services (dev shop, agency, embedded work), though that's not required
Logistics
North America-based. The team is in the Toronto area with clients in the US and Canada. Some travel to client sites may be required. We're open to part-time or full-time to start.
